Europort 2013 selling out rapidly

With 11 months to go and almost 80% of the available space already confirmed, Europort 2013 is selling out rapidly. Many leader firms have already confirmed their location including companies like ABB, ABC, Alewijnse, Alfa Laval, Alphatron, Blohm & Voss, Bosch Rexroth, Caterpillar, Clarcsons, Damen shipyards, Dresser Rand Guascor, Germanischer Lloyd, Hempel, Huisman, IHC shipyards, Imtech Marine, Keppel Verolme, Kongsberg, Lloyds Register, Jotun, Magotteaux, Mahle, Man Diesel, Moteurs de Baudouin, MTU, Oakwell shipyards, Pallfinger, Redwise, Rolls Royce, Saab, SAM Electronics, Stork Gears, Trelleborg, Turbo Cadiz, Untel, Veka, Voith Turbo, Volvo Penta, Wilhelmsen, ZF Friedrichshafen, Zollern and many others. A complete list of confirmed exhibitors, specified by country of origin, has been attached for your reference.

At present 100 international companies have signed up as a main exhibitor. Our aim is to achieve at least 200 international main exhibitors.

Conference and activity program
Europort wants to play a pioneering role when it comes to maritime technology. Europort 2013 will therefore offer an extensive conference and activity programme which keeps the industry up front. Technological innovation, cost efficiency, sustainability, financing and human capital will be key topics. The programme will focus on the upgrading of ships, limitation of emission and fuel consumption, use of LNG and implementing safety concepts; it will deal with product life-cycle management and total cost of ownership.


Summary of conferences, activities and events during Europort 2013:

Mare Forum Europort - 5 November 2013
Mare Forum will organize the opening conference of Europort 2013. The conference attract a high quality international audience amongst which many international ship owners but also shipbuilders, financers, investors, charterers, ship brokers, policy makers, and other members of the international maritime community. They will learn and discuss all urgent maritime themes as implementing environmental technologies, innovations and financing, which are of vital importance to the future of the maritime industry.

Advanced Technoloy Conferences - 5, 6, 7, 8 November
In cooperation with Holland Marine Equipment (HME), Europort will again organise the "Advanced Technology Conferences". Leading national and international market players will be invited to present innovative showcases about advanced technology used to build the world's most sophisticated ships. In short dynamic workshops (free entrance) Europort visitors will get an update about the latest innovations in maritime technology. Each workshop focusses on a specific maritime industry with its own themes, developments and target of audience. The following workshops are scheduled:
• Mega Yachts - 'Frontrunners of Innovation'
• Naval Specials - 'Protecting the Shipping Industry'
• Workboats - 'Working Offshore'
• Offshore - 'Going into the Deep'
• Inland Navigation 'Pioneering with LNG'
• Construction vessels - 'Big, bigger, biggest'.
A call for papers to apply for a presentation time slot will be communicated end of January 2013.

Ballast Water Management Conference - 6 + 7 November 2013 ' from concept to reality'
As the IMO Ballast Water Management Convention (2004) is nearing entry into force, it is time to act. The BWMC is no longer a concept, it is soon becoming reality for the maritime sector. The North Sea Ballast Water Opportunity (NSBWO) project organises a special two-day conference, during Europort 2013 which also informs participants that even for the highly challenging sectors, such as complex ships, developments leading to potential solutions are on the way. Primarily the conference will target the maritime sector: quartermasters, officers at sea and ship owners, but it also will include a window for ports, supply chains and any other sector involved in BWM. Attending the conference is free of charge.

CEDA Dredging Forum - 7 + 8 November 2013
The Central Dredging Association CEDA will organize a special dredging forum during Europort on 7 + 8 November. More information about this forum will follow.

MariMatch 2013 - 6 November
MariMatch 2013, organized by the Enterprise Europe Network is an international "matchmaking" event for companies and institutions in the maritime industry who are looking for new business and/or research partners. The event offers the opportunity to gain new international contacts for future technology partnerships. The focus is on innovative technology.

Green Route
Europort's "Green Route" has been organized for the first time in 2009 and has proved to be a valuable tool to showcase the latest sustainable solutions for the maritime industry. Visitors who follow the Green Route will have a clear overview of products and services with a demonstrable reduction in the environmental impact of ships. Participation to the green route is free of charge to all exhibitors in Europort 2013. Applications will be subject to approval by an independent jury formed by Platform Ships' Emissions. Partners in the platform are Holland Shipbuilding Association, Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (Marin), Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), North Sea Foundation, Port of Rotterdam and Royal Association of Netherlands' Ship owners. Exhibitors who have been authorized to participate will be highlighted on the floor plans and will receive an additional "Green Route participant" plate to put in their stand. The criteria for participation as well as the application procedure will be published at www.europort.nl by the end of January 2012.
